Shipping Information

White Birch Studio ships all of their product direct from the manufacturer to our customers. Since manufacturers often make their product in batches, using this technique may well extend delivery times. We do so, however, because shipping in this way lowers our cost and allows us to sell to you for less.

Shipments to the continental 48 States

Our policy is to provide free shipping whenever possible. Most of the items in our website are in this category and are marketed with a Free Shipping icon to confirm. A small number of items that are sold as an exceptional value do not display the free shipping icon and ship at normal ground parcel rates.  You will still receive free shipping, however, if the value of the total order exceeds $49.00   In addition, some items require an additional shipping charge due to size or weight. Those items are marked with a Special Shipping Required icon and have a $200 freight and handling fee added in your shopping cart. These products generally arrive by motor carrier and include "liftgate" service only. The trucking firm will deliver your items inside the ground floor doorway, garage, or covered area of your choice. Heavier items that need more than one person to move may require your assistance. This service does not include unpacking, placing the item, or moving it up or down stairs. White Glove Service which includes delivery, unpacking, assembly, and placement of the item in your home, may be available by calling our Customer Service Center at (203)557-8087.

Lead Times and Delivery

White Birch Studio does everything possible to assure a smooth and prompt delivery of your products. However, please remember that we ship our product directly from the manufacturer to you, and therefore, delivery issues are not directly in our control. We do our best to give accurate lead times for each product but we provide delivery estimates that our manufacturers give us. We are happy to take your inquiries as the estimated delivery time approaches and we will track your ship date and provide you with that information. Also note that shipping time for freight items (this includes furniture, large light fixtures and some rugs) can be as much as 2-3 weeks from the time that the item(s) are scheduled for pickup from our manufacturer. We will do our best to expedite all of our shipments.

Shipping to Alaska and Hawaii

We are pleased to provide shipment services to customers in Hawaii and Alaska. Due to the unusual cost, however, we can not provide free shipping to these States. Items marked with a Free Shipping icon will have shipping and handling charges added to the shopping cart based on the weight of the item. For items that are marked with a Special Shipping Required icon, please call our Customer Service Center at (203)557-8087 and we will be happy to investigate potential shipping solutions for you.

Damages and Returns

Because we take so much care in packing and shipping your purchase, merchandise is rarely damaged in transit, but it can happen despite all precautions. Inspect your purchase carefully, starting with the outside of the box when it is delivered. Any damage to a freight shipped box or to the product itself must be recorded on the Bill of Lading prior to signing for the delivery.
